World Liberty Financial, a crypto project backed by the Trump family, has whitelisted more than 100,000 accredited US investors ahead of the WLFI token presale that begins on Tuesday.
During the livestream on X, the team behind WLFI provided updates, including the fact that the project had whitelisted over 100,000 investors.
The WLFI token will serve as the protocol’s governance token, allowing users to participate in important decisions regarding the platform. World Liberty Financial aims to provide a unified platform where users can lend, borrow and trade in stablecoins.
The platform aims to raise $300 million, valuing the startup at $1.5 billion.
On September 16, Donald Trump founded World Liberty Financial with the aim of disrupting traditional finance and offering decentralized finance as an alternative.
Some analysts predicted that the World LibertyFi token would see significant growth, but the Bloomberg report flagged potential concerns about the project.
Rich Teo
Rich Teo joined the project as the leader of stablecoin and payment operations. His role in Paxos was not discussed at the time of the announcement.
Teo co-founded Paxos, a regulated blockchain infrastructure platform known for providing stablecoin services and digital asset solutions. Prior to Paxos, Teo worked in finance at Citadel Investment Group, focusing primarily on quantitative trading.
The token presale will be open to accredited US investors, with additional investors from the UK and other regions complying with local regulations.
The pre-sale comes just weeks before the US presidential election, in which Donald Trump is running as the Republican candidate. Trump currently has a 53.6% chance of winning the election, according to Polymarket bookmakers.
