According to the statement made by Coinbase and Visa, Visa (V) customers will now be able to integrate their eligible debit cards into their Coinbase (COIN) accounts and deposit money instantly.
According to the press release, this feature will be available for users living in the United States or the European Union.
Additionally, users will be able to buy or sell cryptocurrencies directly on the exchange using their Visa debit cards, making it much easier for inexperienced crypto users to invest in the asset class.
While millions of users already use debit cards to link to their Coinbase accounts, Visa debit card holders will have access to “nearly instant” transfers that were not possible before.
“We are excited to partner with Coinbase to help meet the needs of its customers,” said Visa Direct’s North America President Yanilsa Gonzalez Ore, adding that the new feature allows them to “take advantage of trading opportunities day or night.”
The passage of the CryptoAsset Markets Act (MiCA) encourages companies to form partnerships by providing clarity on what they can and cannot do in the region.
