TL;DR
Users are warned to avoid interacting with people who allocate “random tokens”. Scammers often impersonate official SHIB social media channels and accounts. The community should trust trusted sources and be wary of new information from unknown accounts. “Always Be Vigilant”
Shibarium Trustwatch, an X account that provides security advice to Shiba Inu (SHIB) users, issued another important tip during this bull run.
Earlier this week, the team warned the community to be extra careful when interacting with dubious individuals or entities powering the meme currency ecosystem. According to the warning, these bad actors do this only to gain the trust of victims and later “push random tokens that they have been paid to promote.”
“Also, there are accounts that gain ShibArmy’s trust, follow and then sell those accounts to scammers. Always be vigilant, do your research and protect yourselves, Shibizens,” the team added.
Last week, Shibarium Trustwatch sounded the alarm again and reminded users that SHIB SHI and TREAT related meme coins are not yet available. This means that the community should stay away from scammers who claim otherwise and offer services with these coins.
SHI and TREAT are designed to strengthen the functionality and stability of the SHIB ecosystem. The first is an algorithmic stablecoin with the goal of maintaining a stable value, compensating for market volatility, and serving as a medium of exchange. TREAT, on the other hand, is a versatile reward token. It will support SHI liquidity, replace BONE in ShibaSwap, and play a role in Metaverse and Shiba Inu related blockchain games.
SHIB users often targeted by scammers
The second largest meme coin has one of the largest and most dedicated communities, consisting of millions of members (holders, developers, and advocates).
The self-proclaimed Dogecoin killer garners significant interest and media coverage, often attracting newcomers who may be inexperienced with crypto security. In addition, the Shiba Inu community is very active on social media platforms such as X, where impersonation is common. Fraudsters use these platforms to quickly spread false information, often mimicking official SHIB channels or influencers.
SHIB users are encouraged to check only official sources, follow the accounts of major developers (such as Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous lead developer), and take new information from unknown people with a grain of salt.
