DeFi Technologies has introduced CoreFi Strategy Corp, a publicly traded company that offers investors access to Bitcoin-focused decentralized finance via the Core blockchain.
This move was inspired by companies like MicroStrategy, according to a press release shared with Crypto.news.
CoreFi Strategy aims to provide regulated, leveraged Bitcoin (BTC) investments with the potential for increased returns.
The company is expected to list on the Canadian stock exchange in early 2025.

The CoreFi Strategy aims to open a new way for investors to access the Core blockchain and Bitcoin staking.
Core blockchain, also known as BTCfi, provides Bitcoin-specific DeFi opportunities, enabling participants to generate returns on their assets. CoreFi Strategy’s approach combines purchasing and staking Bitcoin and Core’s native asset, CORE (CORE); This could increase returns for investors who might otherwise hold Bitcoin without a return.
The strategy is modeled after MicroStrategy and MetaPlanet, two companies that have achieved significant gains by investing heavily in Bitcoin.
MicroStrategy, for example, has used its holdings to outperform Bitcoin’s own price gains, creating a stock that reflects not only Bitcoin’s value but also its potential for further appreciation.
MetaPlanet has also achieved even greater returns by leveraging its Bitcoin holdings with leveraged strategies. CoreFi Strategy aims to replicate this model for BTCfi.
In practical terms, the CoreFi Strategy aims to dual-stake Bitcoin and CORE, meaning it will hold and invest in both assets simultaneously. Core’s blockchain also features a staking system that allows Bitcoin holders who stake CORE to earn additional Bitcoin returns.
This creates a compounding effect for returns as investors gain from both Bitcoin price movements and the staking returns Core offers.
