Karak leverages Space and Time as a zero-knowledge processor solution to support trustless interrupts and rewards for its Distributed Secure services.
The multi-chain restake platform stated in an announcement that the integration of Space and Time will provide an important layer of security for decentralized services within the ecosystem. Built on Ethereum (ETH), Karak is a layer-2 project that aims to strengthen user protection through universal security.
A ZK proof solution for DSSs
Space and Time is a decentralized data warehouse that acts as a verifiable computational layer for blockchain and AI applications. The platform provides smart contracts, large language models, and a scalable zero-knowledge (ZK) proof solution that is a must-have for businesses.
Karak will use this technology for its DSS, which uses re-staking assets to provide security for a variety of providers, including data availability marketplaces and zero-knowledge coprocessors. Space and Time’s fast on-chain proofs allow developers to quickly build and deploy DSSs.
Additionally, Space and Time is developing its own distributed secure service on Karak, which aims to enhance the platform’s ZK-compatible indexing solution. This will allow the Space and Time community to run indexing nodes.
Coinbase and Pantera Capital Back Karak
Karak, which recently raised $48 million in a Series A round at a $1 billion valuation, is backed by Coinbase and Pantera Capital. The funds will be used to accelerate the development of Karak’s universal security layer for Ethereum and the broader crypto community. Karak aims to create a universal re-staking layer that integrates the global crypto economy, including every asset and blockchain network.
“Many assets have lower opportunity costs compared to ETH, meaning a Distributed Secure Service (DSS) has an easier and much more viable path to sustainable returns. In an ETH-only environment, a DSS must compete with every ETH return opportunity with a new, unique risk profile,” Karak wrote in X.
Partners in Karak’s restaking ecosystem include Swell, ether.fi, Renzo, Kelp, and Puffer Finance.
Wormhole was the first DSS on Karak, and the platform recently expanded its solution to offer native staking for Maker (MKR).
