Revolut has partnered with Ledger to integrate its app into Ledger Live, allowing users in select European countries to purchase cryptocurrencies via the Ledger app.
Revolut and Ledger have announced a new integration that will allow users in select European Economic Area countries to seamlessly buy cryptocurrencies via Ledger Live, a software that allows cryptocurrency holders to track their portfolios.
The integration will make crypto purchases easier for users in select European Economic Area countries, Revolut said in a press release shared with crypto.news on August 14.
Existing Revolut customers who complete Know Your Customer verification will skip additional verification, allowing them to acquire crypto. New users will also be able to complete a KYC process to access the service using Visa or Mastercard, the press release notes. Revolut’s general manager of crypto, Emil Urmanshin, said the partnership is “the next step in our mission to help people join web3.”
Revolut invests in crypto
The latest move follows Revolut’s cautious expansion into the crypto space and the gradual launch of its own crypto exchange, Revolut X. Unlike traditional launches, Revolut X was initially open only to professional traders, offering fiat-to-crypto with zero fees for makers and 0.09% fees for takers.
Revolut has been considering launching its own crypto exchange since 2021, when the London-based company began looking for someone to lead the team to “design and build the Revolut Crypto exchange.” The neobank, valued at $25.7 billion as of April, offers crypto services to 30 million customers worldwide and offers exposure to more than 50 tokens.
