Web3 and Blockchain Ecosystem Meet for the Third Time at Istanbul Blockchain Week

The third Istanbul Blockchain Week was organized this year with the theme of “Discover the Future of Technology”.

The event hosted its visitors at Hilton İstanbul Bomonti Hotel and Congress Center, where more than 50 sectoral participants gave speeches over 2 days. The event, which was the title sponsor of Arkham Intelligence, featured the following speakers this year: Animoca Brands Founding Partner and Chairman of the Board Yat Siu, TON Foundation Global Business Development Manager Ömür Çataltepe, Arkham Intelligence Founding Partner and CEO Miguel Morel, MultiversX Founding Partner and CEO Benjamin Micu, Mantra and Soma.Finance CEO and Founding Partner John Mullin, Bitpace CEO and Founding Partner Anıl Öncü, and EY Turkey Blockchain Department Leader Esra Özdemir.

“Istanbul has become an important meeting point for the blockchain industry”

Miguel Morel, Co-Founder and CEO of Arkham Intelligence, who provided information about their working systems at the workshop held at Istanbul Blockchain Week, said, “Arkham provides people with information about portfolio balance and transactions with its data. By collecting data from different networks and chains, we create a collective data within our own organization and by using artificial intelligence, we can detect different wallets where a certain money is located. Currently, many major states, especially the USA, England, Germany and El Salvador, are in Arkham.”

Speaking at Istanbul Blockchain Week, TON Foundation Global Business Development Manager Ömür Çataltepe stated that they plan to increase the number of integrations they have for the TON ecosystem, “We want to have as many bridges as possible in our ecosystem. Because we think this is important for the flow between other chains and TON. On the other hand, we will increase the number of our infrastructure providers and wallets. Almost everyone needs to have a TON wallet in their pocket. Having as many wallets as possible in our ecosystem will increase adoption.”

“Users should have the opportunity to determine what data they want to share”

“I don’t think there’s a lot of anonymity in Web2 right now, and I don’t think 100% anonymity is possible in any system,” said Benjamin Micu, Co-Founder and CEO of MultiversX, adding that anonymity should be at the user’s discretion. “However, there are technologies that can help provide anonymity and do it in a truly compliant way. As blockchain advocates, we want the data to be controlled by the user. Users should have the opportunity to determine what data they want to share.”

Istanbul Blockchain Week also hosted the region’s largest Web3 gaming event, W3Expo, and W3E Gaming. Participants had the opportunity to experience game demos and tournaments by entering the adrenaline-filled Web3 esports world in the W3E Gaming area.
