Crypto scammers targeted Lara and Tiffany Trump’s X accounts to promote a Solana-based memecoin.
As confirmed by multiple users on X, including Lara Trump’s husband Eric Trump, the X accounts were compromised on September 4 and used to promote a fake Solana-based memecoin centered around Donald Trump’s mysterious new decentralized finance project, World Liberty Financial.
One of Lara Trump’s now-deleted posts promoted the fake WL token as the official “governance token” for the Trump family project. In subsequent posts, the attackers made it look legitimate by sharing a contract address for the token and a link to the project’s official Telegram group.
The attackers then used Tiffany Trump’s account to promote fraudulent posts and attempt to trick users.

Immediately after the posts began circulating on X, Eric Trump, along with the official World Liberty Financial X account, warned users about the hack and urged everyone to refrain from purchasing tokens.
WARNING: Lara and Tiffany Trump’s X accounts have been hacked. Do not click on any links shared from their profiles or purchase any tokens. We are actively working to fix this but please be careful and avoid scams!

Eric Trump confirmed that both hacked accounts were “locked” minutes after the posts were made. However, one user noted that it was a bit late because the posts had garnered comments from media personality Caitlyn Jenner. Jenner confirmed the posts and explained that she “removed them (immediately!) minutes later.”
I don’t speak for them or their project. I put three clapping emojis and when I heard about the hack, I removed them minutes later (immediately!) and shared the hack announcement on their official channel. https://t.co/Y5SvibjqGg

Data from Dexscreener shows that the token’s price has reached 0.005314 SOL after trading at 0.0001286 SOL just a few hours ago. At the time of publication, the token had been active for around seven hours, but its price had fallen by more than 90% from its all-time high.
This is far from the first time scammers have used the Trump family name to launch fake memecoins. In June, the DJT token was involved in a rug-pulling incident due to alleged links to Donald Trump and his son Barron Trump. The Trump family has not confirmed their involvement in the project.
Another Solana-based project, Restore The Republic, also claimed to have links to Donald Trump, but that claim was later refuted by Eric Trump, who publicly denied any connection.
