Samsung-backed crypto startup Mesh partners with CoinMENA to expand services in MENA

Cryptocurrency management startup Mesh has partnered with broker CoinMENA to facilitate cryptocurrency transactions in the Middle East.

Cryptocurrency startup Mesh (formerly Front Finance) has announced a strategic partnership with Bahrain-regulated cryptocurrency trading platform CoinMENA, with the aim of expanding its services in the Middle East and North Africa.

Mesh said in a press release dated September 18 that this partnership will enable CoinMENA users to benefit from its API-based solutions designed to facilitate crypto asset transactions across various platforms.

“The integration eliminates cumbersome processes, allowing CoinMENA users to access their accounts directly from other platforms without the hassle of long crypto addresses, QR codes, and startup phrases.”

CoinMENA, which operates under the regulation of the Dubai Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority, serves users in seven Middle Eastern countries. Commenting on the partnership, CoinMENA co-founders Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam’an said the partnership “perfectly aligns with our users’ needs, provides an additional method to fund their crypto wallets, and reinforces our commitment to be the most efficient gateway for MENA investors to access the crypto market.”

Founded in 2020 by Bam Azizi and Adam Israel, Mesh raised $22 million in a Series A funding round in September 2023. The capital injection was led by Money Forward and backed by other investors including Galaxy and Samsung Next. At the time, Azizi said the transactions would help Mesh develop tools for deposits, payments, and payouts.

Earlier in July, Mesh partnered with Italian crypto wallet Conio, aiming to expand its reach to multiple crypto trading platforms like Coinbase and Binance. Following the collaboration, Mesh said Conio’s 430,000 customers will be able to access 10 crypto exchanges and withdraw funds directly to their Conio wallets.
