An inactive bitcoin whale address was reactivated today, according to data from Arkham Intelligence, and has moved 5 BTC to crypto exchange Kraken.
This was its third BTC transfer in recent weeks after remaining silent for a decade, the popular resource said.
Arkham’s data shows that the wallet received bitcoin storage during the first two months of BTC’s existence, meaning it must have been between January and March 2009, given the network’s launch on 3 January of that year.
The whale made several transfers of its BTC deposit between 2011 and 2014 to exchanges and other addresses, after which they stopped moving funds.
It’s worth noting that the value of his holdings has skyrocketed from less than $500,000 in 2014 to roughly $80 million at current prices.
The whale woke up three weeks ago, making three separate transactions for a total of 10 BTC. According to the Arkham portal, they still have 1,215 BTC (worth $77 million).

Arkham also pointed to another portfolio, which recently resurfaced after 15 years of “complete silence.” His deposit was also received during the first months of Bitcoin and was worth $16 million (250 BTC) at that time.
CryptoPotato reported in early August about another inactive wallet that was active during the days of Satoshi Nakamoto. He won 250 BTC in May 2010 and transferred the storage to five new wallets last month.
