Arbitrum teams up with Ubisoft to launch new game

Arbitrum Foundation joins forces with Ubisoft and Sequence to release a new game called ‘Captain Laserhawk: The GAME’

Built on the Arbitrum (ARB) blockchain, the new game is a collaborative effort between the Arbitrum Foundation, Sequence, and Ubisoft Labs to expand on ‘Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix.’

The platforms announced that ‘A Blood Dragon Remix’ is a game series produced by Ubisoft for Netflix.

GAME to benefit from the Arbitrum blockchain

According to the announcement on August 6, the new game will use the Arbitrum blockchain for its initial activation and core, taking advantage of the platform’s scalability and user engagement technology. The game adventure will also feature Sequence’s blockchain tools.

The GAME will feature iconic characters from major franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil.

“With Arbitrum’s supercharged blockchain infrastructure and Sequence’s full web3 stack as the foundation, Captain Laserhawk: the GAME is poised to be a groundbreaking, player-focused project,” said Nicolas Pouard of Ubisoft Labs.

The launch on Arbitrum allows users to shape the game’s story, gameplay, and side experiences.

Support for Arbitrum’s gaming ecosystem

Nina Rong, Head of Ecosystem Development at Arbitrum Foundation, added that the collaboration will contribute to the further growth of the blockchain network’s growing gaming ecosystem.

“It’s exciting to see leading game studios like Ubisoft turning to Arbitrum to support their ambitious community-driven projects – an important step towards increased adoption and accessibility in the industry. Arbitrum’s game ecosystem continues to evolve, and the increased focus from legacy studios will accelerate this growth,” Rong said.

In June 2024, the Arbitrum Foundation announced a $215 million incentive program to accelerate game development on Arbitrum. The initiative aims to distribute 225 million ARBs to top game developers building on the network.

According to Dapp Radar, top Arbitrum games include Rumble Racing Star, GOAT Gaming, GombleGames, Treasure, and Crypto Unicorns.
