A blockchain security expert, TelegramHe warned that blockchain platform The Open Network (TON) is facing phishing attacks.
According to the founder of blockchain security firm SlowMist, which has a variety of decentralized applications (DApps) and TON blockchain-based tokens TON The ecosystem is endangered by increasing cyber attacks. “Hacking incidents in the TON ecosystem are increasing day by day,” SlowMist founder Yu Xian wrote in an X post on June 23.
According to Xian, vulnerabilities in the TON ecosystem are related to fraudsters gaining easy access to message clusters where they publish phishing contacts. The manager said:
“The Telegram ecosystem is extremely free, and many phishing contacts or bot forms are spread through notification clusters, airdrops, and other deceptive methods to lure users into clusters of TON wallets.”
Anonymous Telegram users are in danger
Xian noted that phishing risks on Telegram messenger are higher for users with anonymous numbers used to create accounts that are not linked to SIM cards. “This means that if these are compromised by phishing, the relevant Telegram account may also be lost unless the user activates an independent password or two-step verification,” the security expert said.
Telegram The “anonymous numbers” option was introduced in late 2022, allowing users to log in to the platform without using a SIM card. Instead of relying on the SIM card, users can log in using blockchain-based anonymous numbers found on platforms such as Fragment.
