Berachain, Linea airdrop odds rise on Polymarket

Polymarket users expect Berachain and Linea Protocol to launch their airdrops in the first quarter of this year.

A small Polymarket survey with $22,000 in assets puts Berachain’s airdrop probability at 90% and Linear at 89%.

Berachain airdrop hopes are rising

Berachain has become one of the fastest growing players in the crypto industry. It is also one of the best-financed; It collected $43 million in 2023 and $100 million in March last year, making this figure worth $1 billion.

It is a layer 1 network with a portfolio of DeFi-related applications in its ecosystem. BEX is a Uniswap (UNI) competitor that allows users to effortlessly exchange tokens, while BEND is an Aave (AAVE) competitor for borrowing and lending.

BERPS allows users to trade their favorite tokens, while BGT Station allows users to participate in BGT management. HONEY, the company’s native stablecoin, connects these ecosystem dApps.

On-chain data shows that the Berachain network has processed over 533 million transactions since its inception. 57.14 million of these transactions took place in the last 14 days. Additionally, the number of active addresses on Berachain increased from 945,000 on December 15 to almost 3 million today.

Linea, meanwhile, is a popular layer-2 network that uses zero-knowledge technology to power the Ethereum network. It rivals other L2 networks such as Arbitrum, Base and Optimism.

On-chain data shows that Linea has processed over 241 million transactions on its network. It has processed nearly 240,000 transactions in the last 14 days.

Further data shows that Linea has accumulated over $383 million in locked value. Mendi, ZeroLend and Lynex are major players in the ecosystem.

Linea’s popularity is likely due to the fact that it was founded by Consensys, a leading player in the crypto industry. It has raised over $450 million in donations from companies such as Consensys, Third Point, ParaFi and Softbank. The Linea Foundation, a Swiss organization that started in November last year, will oversee the airdrop.

Many popular crypto projects such as zkSync, EigenLayer, Wormhole, LayerZero, and Hamster Kombat have launched their airdrops with mixed success. Wormhole’s token is down 82% from its highest on the list, while EigenLayer is down 30%.
