Bitcoin Breaks Out of $150 From New All-Time High, SUI Explodes 12% Daily (Market Watch)

Bitcoin price action over the past 24 hours brought the asset within inches of breaking its March all-time high of $73,740.

Many altcoins are also in the green today, with DOGE jumping nearly 5%, while SHIB, LINK and ADA posted impressive gains of around 3%.

BTC came within inches

The major cryptocurrency has been on a spectacular run over the past few days. It all started after Friday night’s price drop to $65,500 following the Tether FUD, but the bulls immediately regained control of the market.

This resulted in BTC regaining some ground and hovering around $67,000 for the weekend. However, the asset went on the offensive at the start of the current business week, breaking above $70,000 for the first time in months yesterday.

Moreover, bitcoin did not hold back this time just by touching this coveted price tag, but continued to rise in the following hours and rose to $73,600 (on Bitstamp). It therefore came within $150 of breaking the all-time high of $73,740 (CoinGecko data) set earlier this year.

However, he failed to beat this record and has now pushed south around a large. However, being up 2% on the day means its market cap has soared to more than $1.430 trillion, while its dominance of the highs has soared to over 56% on CG.

Most altcoins also turned green today. Ethereum is up 2% and nearing $2,700. TRX and SHIB have added similar percentages over the past 24 hours. Dogecoin is the biggest gainer of the top 10 highs, followed by ADA. LINK is also up 3%, while SUI has soared 12%. As a result, it now sits well above $2.

In contrast, KAS has shed 7% in the same time period. BNB, SOL, XRP, AVAX and BCH are also slightly in the red.

However, the total crypto market capitalization has increased by $80 billion and is at a multi-month high of over $2.550 trillion.
