As Bitcoin Nashville is about to kick off, industry attention is focused on former President Donald Trump’s keynote speech about Bitcoin and the entire crypto industry.
The Bitcoin Conference, where important industry figures and high-level politicians from the crypto world will come together to take a comprehensive look at the market, will be held in Nashville, Tennessee, hours before its start.
Most attention is focused on former President Donald Trump, who is expected to deliver a “historic message,” according to what event organizer and BTC Inc. chief of staff Brandon Green told the media. Despite the hype, the market appears unimpressed, with Polymarket bettors skeptical that Trump will announce anything significant.
It’s clear that the event will be a financial success for Trump, with Bitcoin Magazine Managing Director David Bailey pledging to raise $15 million for the Republican presidential candidate during the conference.
Pro-crypto Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis is also expected to make major announcements, potentially revealing that she is working on new legislation that would require the Federal Reserve to hold Bitcoin (BTC) as a strategic reserve asset. Other speakers include independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., ARK founder Cathie Wood and former MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor, though details of their speeches remain unclear.
As crypto.news previously reported, the conference will also feature controversial figures such as British comedian Russell Brand, who has faced accusations of sexual assault and inappropriate behavior from multiple women. He has been investigated by the police and questioned by detectives. For more on them, check out our in-depth review here.
There was speculation ahead of yesterday that Vice President and presumptive Democratic nominee Kamala Harris could also attend the conference, but after discussions with organizers, she reportedly declined to attend. Trump is expected to speak for 30 minutes on the conference’s final day, July 27, at 2:00 p.m. CT (19:00 UTC).
