Bitcoin Price Drops Towards $60,000, Aptos Tanks 9% Daily (Market Watch)

Bitcoin’s price woes continued over the past 24 hours, as the asset dipped toward $60,000 for the first time in about a week.

Most of the altcoins have followed suit, with ETH, BNB, SOL, XRP, DOGE, TON and many others declining by about 2% daily.

BTC dropped towards $60,000

The major cryptocurrency bottomed last Thursday with the price falling to just under $60,000. Bulls rallied at that point and fueled an impressive rally that culminated Monday morning with a rise to a multi-week high of $64,500.

This came after a positive end to the previous work week and a fairly quiet weekend. However, the asset could not sustain the momentum at this point and started losing value gradually.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, he had lost about three thousand and struggled to stay above $62,000. Bears stepped up the pressure earlier this morning when they took bitcoin to a weekly low of $60,250.

As of now, BTC has managed to defend the coveted $60,000 level and is hovering near $61,000. Still, it’s down 2% on the day, and its market cap has shrunk to $1.2 trillion. Its dominance over the seniors, however, stands at a little over 54%.

Altcoins have mimicked BTC’s performance over the past day, meaning red dominates the charts. Larger caps such as ETH, BNB, SOL, XRP, DOGE, TON, ADA, AVAX, LINK, and BCH have produced losses of 2%.

Shiba Inu and SUI are down more than 3%, while NEAR is down almost 6%. WIF is down by a similar percentage, while APT is down 9% in one day. As a result, the asset is now struggling below $8.4.

Uniswap’s native token is among the few exceptions to today’s green. UNI is up nearly 7% and trading above $7.6.

However, the total crypto market capitalization is down about $50 billion overnight and down to $2.225 trillion in CG.
