Bitcoin Surpasses $67,000 as Altcoins See Sizable Gains (Weekend Watch

The cryptocurrency market had a massive recovery yesterday after starting the day very slow and even declining considerably. However, buyers stepped in and pushed Bitcoin above $67,000, while many altcoins are posting impressive returns.

Bitcoin rises above $67,000

Bitcoin price is up around 5% on the day, making an impressive recovery after dropping to $63,000 earlier in yesterday morning’s trading session.

It was able to hit a daily local high of $67,400 on Bitstamp, but has since declined to where it is currently trading at $66,600. It’s still an impressive performance, and the bulls could be consolidating now in preparation for another rally towards the $70,000 level.

When narrowing down the hourly view, the price seems to have returned to an uptrend and it is interesting to see if it will take Bitcoin to $70,000, which seems to be the next important level.

Altcoins in a sea of ​​green

Not only Bitcoin is making impressive gains, but the entire market. As seen in the heat map below, all large-cap altcoins have risen sharply.

Some of the top performers include DOGE, which gained around 7.3%, SOL, up almost 6%, AVAX, up 5.4%, NEAR, up more than 6%, and so on.

SEI and ORDI are today the best results, 18.5% and 16.4%, respectively. POPCAT and BONK are the best performing memecoins, up 16% and 13.2%.

It is interesting to note that all the top 100 cryptocurrencies by total capitalization are in the green, showing the strength of the market in the last 24 hours.
