The cryptocurrency market is going through active days. In this article, we will examine the latest developments and their potential impacts in the Cardano (ADA), Polkadot (DOT), Chiliz (CHZ coin) and Solana (SOL) ecosystems.
Is Cardano (ADA) entering the “Age of Voltaire”?
Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson made an announcement that excited the crypto community. According to the latest social media post, the long-awaited Chang Hard Fork upgrade is expected to be completed this June. This upgrade is described as a valuable milestone for Cardano and paves the way for the transition to the “Age of Voltaire”. Hoskinson stated in his last post that Cardano Node will soon reach version 9.0. This milestone shows that Cardano is ready for the Chang Hard Fork. Hoskinson stated that they expect the upgrade to take place in June.
For the upgrade to start, 70% of Stake Pool Operators (SPO) must update to the new node. This update aims to introduce a revolutionary governance model that aims to bring Cardano into the “Age of Voltaire.” Hoskinson emphasized that this upgrade is the most important development in Cardano history. He described the future Cardano as a decentralized civilization supported by millions of people globally. With this transformation, Cardano aims to implement the most advanced blockchain governance system. This system will include annual budgets, treasury and community-focused decision-making processes.
Polkadot (DOT) seeks leadership with Real World Assets (RWA)
Polkadot emerges as a pioneer in the RWA segment. This signals potential growth and market leadership for the DOT price. The introduction of RWA functions within the Polkadot ecosystem represents a valuable step towards increasing the utility and value of the platform. Polkadot (DOT) price continues to hover around $7, and this may serve as a catalyst that will push the price movement even higher.
Polkadot recently published the JAM Whitepaper, often called Polkadot 2.0. This whitepaper reveals Polkadot’s ambitious plans and technical developments, highlighting its commitment to innovation and ever-improving in the blockchain segment.
Hard fork and mainnet upgrades for CHZ coin and Solana
Sports and entertainment blockchain solution Chiliz Chain announced that the Dragon8 hard fork will take place on Friday, June 17. Chiliz’s Dragon8 hard fork, which was previously planned for May 21 and was one of only two planned hard forks to be completed, was postponed. The team will determine another hard fork date later, after the evaluation is completed and the plan is revised.
Solana, on the other hand, requested that validators upgrade to a new stable version to strengthen the Solana blockchain before the mainnet upgrade. The Solana group aims to prevent pressure and congestion on the network due to the chest coin craze and heavy demand for Solana-based platforms. SOL investors reacted immediately to the announcement. According to a June 10 post on Solana Status, the Solana team is now recommending v1.18.15 for general adoption for the mainnet upgrade. The upgrade was aimed at resolving major congestion woes on the network resulting from the launch of Solana-based chest coins.
