Kraken did not disclose financial terms of the deal.
Kraken is said to be in talks to raise $100 million in funding by the end of the year ahead of a possible IPO.
When Premier League champions Manchester City take the field against arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur in late November, players from both teams will have the word crypto companies on their sleeves.
Cryptocurrency exchange Kraken has become the sleeve sponsor of Tottenham, commonly known as “Spurs,” in a multi-season deal. Manchester City have an equivalent deal with OKX that began at the start of last season.
Kraken did not disclose the duration of the deal or the price paid. OKX’s three-year partnership with Man City cost the exchange $70 million.
Kraken announced a similar deal with Spanish team Atlético Madrid last week, meaning the company will now be present in both the English Premier League and Spain’s La Liga.
Kraken is said to be in talks to raise $100 million by the end of the year ahead of a potential initial public offering (IPO). Sponsoring Spurs and Atlético could boost its plans given the visibility it would have in two of the world’s most popular football leagues.
