ETH staking ETFs have potential to surpass Bitcoin ETF: Bitcoin Suisse

Crypto financial service provider Bitcoin Suisse says the crypto bull market will continue in 2025 and predicts that Ethereum staking exchange-traded funds could outperform Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Suisse shared its forecast for next year; Highlights include the US adopting a Bitcoin (BTC) strategic reserve as other countries follow, and BTC trading rising to an all-time high above $180,000. The Swiss-regulated crypto initiative also envisions financial giants taking steps to announce institutional recoveries on Ethereum (ETH).

But one of the biggest predictions for 2025 is that Ethereum staking ETFs could surpass Bitcoin ETFs.

“With Bitcoin ETFs breaking records with $32 billion in net flows and IBIT approaching $50 billion in AUM in just 225 trading days, we foresee a structural shift in flows into ETH ETFs in the post-election environment.”

Bitcoin Suisse points to key fundamentals for Ethereum ETFs’ 2025 forecast. One of these is the risk-reward proposition that Ether ETFs offer as institutional demand grows.

An example of this is the shift in capital flows in November, when Ethereum ETFs outpaced Bitcoin ETFs in daily flows; $332.9 million for ETH compared to $320 million for BTC.

ETH’s underperformance was due to Bitcoin’s head start as an established narrative. Regulatory negativities surrounding staking returns also contributed. Removing these bottlenecks could cause ETH ETFs to rise significantly.

“Under the new Trump administration, we expect rapid approval for ETH staking in ETFs, eventually yielding a 3-4% yield that appeals strongly to institutional allocators and is particularly compelling in a declining rate environment. “We anticipate that staking returns will disproportionately benefit Ethereum and emerge as the primary catalyst for sustainable constructive flows into ETH ETFs.”

The startup predicts that other predictions for 2025 include the approval of new crypto ETFs. Solana (SOL) and XRP (XRP) are leading the race after seeing multiple issuers file with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
