Ethena head of growth Seraphim Czecker steps down

Seraphim Czecker, Ethena’s chief growth officer, announced his resignation.

Czecker shared the “big personal news” in a post on

“It has truly been an incredible and rewarding journey,” he wrote. “I joined the protocol during the seed round, generated over $1B from DeFi partnerships, while keeping Ethena on your mind 24/7, and had a blast doing it.”

The outgoing Ethena (ENA) team member states that he was “actively involved” in the project from zero to a multibillion-dollar success story. The USDe (USDe) stablecoin issuer’s total value locked currently stands at around $6 billion, according to DeFiLlama. Much of the roller coaster growth has come amid massive demand from yield-hungry investors.

While leaving his position at the crypto project, Czecker says his decision was also down to being “tired”.

“The company is entering a different phase of its growth [but] To tell you the truth, I’m tired of DeFi too. I’ve been doing this for years with no real vacation, I’ve worked with all the major liquidity providers, protocols and KOL in the space and deserve some rest. “I have literally done everything you can do in DeFi,” he said.

Czecker plans to continue supporting Ethena externally and will take one to two months of well-deserved break and rest.

When he returns to actively participating in the industry, his plan is to avoid “pure DeFi.” Instead, it will look to explore other sectors such as AI, memes, social networking, entertainment and fashion.
