According to data from Coingecko, Fartcoin (FARTCOIN) is currently trading at $0.78 and is up nearly 22% in 24-hour trading.

Fartcoin is a cryptocurrency that combines internet culture with cryptocurrency, focusing on humor rather than traditional financial utility. It allows users to participate in activities such as posting fart-themed memes or jokes to earn coins.

A unique feature includes a “Gas Charge” system that enhances the meme-based experience by each transaction triggering a digital fart sound. Coin also uses an AI framework called “Terminal of Truth” to generate creative content and engage the community.

In comparison, memecoin Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) fell 12.8% in 24-hour trading, dropping its market cap below the $700 million threshold for the first time since November 2024.

Both Fartcoin and Goat come from internet meme culture and benefit from the humor and virality that memes can bring to the crypto space. Fartcoin, as its name suggests, likely draws on the youthful humor of bodily functions, while GOAT draws inspiration from the infamous Goatse meme, albeit in a more abstract, AI-focused context.

The introduction or creation of both tokens has been influenced by artificial intelligence. GOAT has been significantly promoted by an AI chatbot called Truth Terminal, which has become an interesting influencer in its own right.

Similarly, posts on X suggest that AI bots or algorithms may play a role in Fartcoin’s trading patterns, but details on this are less clear.

The top cryptocurrencies by market cap include Doge (DOGE), Shiba Inu (SHIB), and Pepe (PEPE), with many of them riding the bullish wave of Bitcoin, which reached a new ATH of $106,382 on December 16.
