FBI confirms attempted assassination of Donald Trump, ongoing investigation

In what appears to be yet another incident involving former US President and current candidate Donald Trump, the country’s Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating shots being fired at the golf club he was playing at .

Anthony Guglielmi, the chief of communications for the United States Secret Service, said:

The Secret Service, along with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, is investigating a security incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred shortly before 2 p.m. The former president is safe.

The suspect in the investigation is named Ryan Routh.

According to various reports, several shots were fired at the golf club while the former president was playing.

According to an MSNBC post on X, the FBI has confirmed the incident as an attempted murder:

“The FBI has responded to West Palm Beach Florida and is investigating what appears to be an attempted assassination of former President Trump.”
