Cryptocurrency project Floki announced that Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, will support the Simon’s Cat airdrop for FLOKI token holders.
According to a blog post published by Floki (FLOKI) on August 20, Binance will support the airdrop of the meme coin following a snapshot that the exchange will take on August 29, 2024.
“If you hold FLOKI on Binance, you don’t need to move your tokens from Binance because $CAT will be airdropped directly to your Binance account.”
Team Floki.
What Floki users need to know
Eligible airdrop participants must hold 400,000 or more FLOKI on Binance, which is worth around $50 worth of tokens at current prices. For FLOKI holders, the CAT airdrop will distribute a total of 900 billion CAT tokens, representing 20% of the total supply Simon’s Cat has allocated to the Floki community.
Simon’s Cat is a meme coin with a total supply of 9 trillion CAT and will be launched on the BNB chain. Floki and DWF Labs are key partners in the project, which raised $4.25 million in the presale by offering 17% of the supply to early adopters.
The Simon’s Cat airdrop will also benefit Floki Trading Bot users and members of the crypto community on leading centralized exchanges.
Meme money madness
Meme coins have become a significant part of the crypto ecosystem, contributing to transaction activity and volume on chains like Solana and Base. However, the meme coin craze has slowed in recent months, with volume on Solana decreasing significantly.
Investors in Pump.fun, a platform that allows the launch of instantly tradable tokens, were also largely unprofitable.
Despite this, the ecosystem still sees significant interest among enthusiasts, with Tron’s meme coin expo launch platform SunPump being one of the latest to join the market. Tron (TRX) founder Justin Sun is optimistic about the meme coin market on the TRON network.
