The crypto project announced that the Floki Debit Card is now available to the global community.
According to the Floki (FLOKI) team, the debit card will allow users to pay with cryptocurrency at any merchant that accepts Visa or Mastercard. Physical and virtual cards are available in 31 European countries, including Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein and Spain.
While the physical card will launch in Europe and will gradually expand to more countries, virtual gift cards are available worldwide. However, Floki announced that the card cannot be used in OFAC-approved countries and regions.
In terms of key features of the card, users will benefit from zero transaction fees, zero percent exchange rate fees, and multi-chain support with the top eight blockchain networks.
Users will be able to top up with top cryptocurrencies as well as the native Floki token. These include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and stablecoins Tether (USDT) and USDC (USDC).
Users who want to use the card will pay a one-time fee of €32 plus shipping costs for the physical card. The one-time fee for the virtual card is 10€ and the loading fee will be 2%.
In March this year, the Floki team announced plans for debit cards, staking and other services as part of expansion efforts aimed at transitioning the project from meme coin to top-tier cryptocurrency ecosystem. The mission also includes the highly anticipated but recently delayed launch of the metaverse blockchain game Valhalla.
Delays for Floki’s flagship project until the first quarter of 2025 have seen the price of the native token rise equally. However, the project stated that the decision was driven by security audit feedback and is key to ensuring user safety.
