Gaming prediction market Forkast to launch on Ronin

Community Gaming announced the upcoming launch of Forkast, a gaming prediction marketplace built on the Ethereum sidechain Ronin.

Ronin, the blockchain network developed by Sky Mavis, creators of Axie Infinity (AXS), also powers other projects like Pixels. According to a press release, when Forkast goes live, users will be able to make predictions on a variety of topics, including gaming, e-sports, streamers and web3. From Community Gaming.

The on-chain prediction market will launch on January 7, 2025.

In a blog post announcing the upcoming launch, the Ronin team said:

“This marks a significant milestone in Ronin’s journey towards an ecosystem beyond gaming and consumer-focused dApps. “$CGX ecosystem tokens will also be launched on Katana DEX as well as Forkast.”

The anticipated announcement follows Forkast’s introduction earlier this month, and this latest development makes the gaming predictions marketplace one of Ronin’s first consumer apps integrations. This will help increase decentralized finance across Ronin.

Bet and win prizes

Forkast will allow users to stake CGX tokens to earn rewards while making predictions on specific markets related to internet culture, gaming, e-sports and web3. The platform will offer weekly rewards and daily liquidity boosts to increase user engagement and ecosystem growth.

The platform also touts cross-platform accessibility, allowing users to switch between Community Games and Forkast for events like predictions, tournaments, and missions. Cross-chain support will make these interactions even easier.

As crypto gaming and prediction markets expand, ease of user participation becomes crucial. Forkast plans to leverage Ronin Waypoint, Ronin’s account and keyless wallet system that allows for combo gaming without the need for startup emoticons or wallet extensions.

Waypoint will also see users benefit from gas-free transactions when claiming rewards such as loot boxes.

Ronin validators adopted Chainlink’s cross-chain interoperability protocol in October, and CCIP became the official cross-chain infrastructure of the network. CCIP went live on Ronin earlier this month.
