Grass is introducing a new way for AI developers to access web data amid rumors of an impending airdrop.
Rumors on Crypto X say that the Grass Token airdrop is nearing its final stages. Participants are eagerly awaiting the token creation event that will convert their Grass Points into GRASS tokens.
Grass rewards its participants for allowing their unused internet bandwidth to be used to collect data from public websites. Launched in June 2023, Grass is the brainchild of Wynd Network, which focuses on turning public web data into valuable AI datasets.

Grass is a network of over 2 million people who are rewarded for helping AI developers access the internet.
It raised $4.5 million from Polychain Capital and other major funds. Binance backs the grass.

Data collected from the unused internet is then turned into datasets and sold to AI labs for training models, thus democratizing AI development and preventing AI from being concentrated in the hands of a few large companies.
The system uses Grass nodes to route web requests through users’ internet connections, ensuring their online experience remains uninterrupted. This process is completely legal and safe, as it only deals with general web data and ensures that users’ personal information is protected.
Users can participate by simply signing up, downloading the Grass app, and allowing their devices to contribute to the network. In return, they receive Grass points, which serve as both a reward mechanism and a governance tool within the ecosystem.

While trading activity for Grass Points has increased over the past year, the exact date for the airdrop has not been officially released. The project raised $3.5 million in a seed funding round led by Polychain Capital and Tribe Capital last year, bringing the total funding for the project to $4.5 million. The funding was used to expand the node network and further develop the decentralized AI ecosystem.
In April, Grass launched the Touch Grass Challenge to celebrate its first Layer 2 data collection. The challenge invited participants to creatively operate Grass nodes in four categories, with winners selected by the Grass team receiving exclusive merchandise.
As Grass grows, it demonstrates how decentralized technology can empower individuals while advancing AI development.
