U.S. Representative Ro Khanna is set to host a roundtable discussion between representatives from Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign and cryptocurrency “industry leaders” on August 5.
According to Fox News correspondent Eleanor Terrett, the event marks a “renewed effort” to “make a fresh start in the industry.”

Bloomberg also reported that important figures from Harris’ election campaign will attend the roundtable.
One of the notable names among potential participants is outgoing White House senior advisor Anita Dunn, who was the first person from President Joe Biden’s inner circle to announce her resignation.
Dunn said he is focused on advising the largest pro-Harris super PAC, which is preparing to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in support of Harris’ campaign in the lead up to Election Day on Nov. 5.
Other White House representatives expected to attend the talks include Deputy Chief of Staff Bruce Reed and National Economic Advisor Lael Brainard.
It’s Democrats’ latest attempt to reshape how crypto enthusiasts perceive the party under the Biden administration.
The general consensus in the crypto community is that Democrats are introducing policies that will weaken the industry.
The White House has never explicitly stated that it is anti-crypto. The Biden administration urged those in the industry to use digital assets and their underlying technology responsibly in a 2022 executive order. The order comes just months after the May collapse of Terra-Luna, which wiped out more than $600 billion in investor and consumer funds.
Meanwhile, Republicans, particularly GOP candidate Donald Trump, are actively using Bitcoin and other digital assets as a topic of discussion to gain traction in the cryptocurrency sector.
Trump has even threatened to fire U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Gary Gensler if he is elected.
Democratic leaders, including former White House chief Moe Vela, have slammed the Republican Party’s pro-crypto stance, calling it insincere political flattery.
