Here are the top performing cryptocurrencies this week: Weekend Watch

As another week rolls by, we’ll take a look at some of the best-performing cryptocurrencies over the past seven days.

It’s safe to say that the week has treated the markets well, with the total capitalization growing to $2.55 trillion, adding up to more than $150 trillion. This is thanks to impressive performances on all fronts, so let’s start with Bitcoin first.

Bitcoin rises 11% in impressive recovery

Despite not being the best performer, Bitcoin certainly made waves in the past seven days, rising 11% in the process.

As you can see in the chart below, it has mostly only risen since July 14th, when the price of BTC took off.

Price tried to claim the $68,000 level yesterday, but was unable to do so as bears preemptively halted the rally. BTC is now in an intraday correction, trading below $67,000.

However, its impressive performance throughout the week has also had an impact on the broader sentiment of the crypto market, which is currently in a state of greed. With a score of 74, it’s up more than 100% from last week, when it was in a state of dread with a score of 33.

Best performing cryptocurrencies

It’s a world of memes. Four of the top 6 results in the last seven days are meme coins.

Claiming the top spot with a 60% increase last week is cat meme POPCAT. Right after, we have dogwifhat. WIF has increased by 53% in the same period, followed by PEPE with 33.6% and FLOKI with 33.4%.

Among them are Arweave (AR) and Core (CORE), which are up 40% and 37%, respectively.

Other notable mentions, which were up around 30%, include INJ, BONK, JUP, RUNE, TAO and Mantra’s OM.

In fact, almost all cryptocurrencies achieved an increase during the week except UNI, AAVE, TRX, TON, ADA and EGLD. These are the only altcoins in the red, but they haven’t lost that much. UNI is the worst performer and is down only 5%.
