According to Bloomberg, Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris expressed her views on crypto during a speech in New York.
“I will bring together labor, small businesses, founders, innovators and great companies to build this opportunity economy. Together, we will form a partnership to invest in America’s competitiveness, to invest in America’s future,” Harris said. “We will protect consumers and investors, while promoting innovative technologies like artificial intelligence and digital assets. We will create a safe business environment with consistent and transparent rules.”
Following Harris’ speech, Uniswap Labs CEO Hayden Adams tweeted:
” style=”height: 550px;”>
“Yes, Biden’s approach to crypto has not been great, but there has clearly been progress. Eventually, you have to start somewhere. Harris is signaling that her administration will approach it differently and be pro-innovation.”
Harris’ comments came after Republican candidate Donald Trump allegedly bought a burger with bitcoin (BTC) at a crypto-themed bar called PubKey in New York City.
Trump and his family also introduced a decentralized finance (DeFi) project called World Liberty Financial last week. Trump previously appeared on Rug Radio, a crypto media platform, to promote the project and discuss crypto policy.
Anthony Scaramucci, founder and managing partner of SkyBridge Capital, who served as White House communications director during former President Donald Trump’s term, announced that he is working with the Harris campaign to develop crypto policy during the Token 2049 event held in Singapore.
Appearing on CoinDeskTV in July, Scaramucci said Democrats have made a “terrible mistake” on crypto so far and have grossly mishandled crypto policy.
