Jihan Wu-backed crypto custodian Cactus Custody passes security audit by Deloitte

Crypto custodian Cactus Custody has completed its SOC 2 Type II audit by Deloitte to meet security standards across APAC.

Cactus Custody, the Asian cryptocurrency custodian founded by Jihan Wu, said on Monday, October 28, that it has completed Deloitte’s SOC 2 Type II compliance review to meet “global security standards.”

Cactus Custody managing director Wendy Jiang praised the certification, saying it reflected the firm’s “commitment” to protecting client assets and “strengthened trust and positioned us as a trusted partner for digital asset custody.” Jiang added that the custodian manages “billions of assets for more than 300 institutions” operating under a Hong Kong trust company.

“This audit demonstrates our ability to meet global security standards by ensuring our customers’ digital assets in APAC and beyond are securely managed in accordance with industry best practices and regulations.”

A SOC 2 Type II audit evaluates an organization’s operational effectiveness over a period of time, typically six months, and evaluates controls related to data security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and confidentiality. Unlike SOC 2 Type I, which focuses on a specific point in time, Type II proves sustainable performance.

Founded in 2019 by crypto veterans Jihan Wu and John Ge, Cactus Custody operates as a subsidiary of Matrixport and offers secure digital asset management on more than 30 blockchains. The firm has received support from leading venture capital investors such as Polychain, K3 Ventures and Lightspeed.
