Kamala Harris Could Champion Tech Innovation and Crypto

Mark Cuban: Kamala Harris Can Defend Tech Innovation and Crypto

Billionaire investor Mark Cuban suggested in an interview with Politico that US presidential candidate Kamala Harris could be much more supportive of technological innovation and cryptocurrencies than President Joe Biden. Harris, who has experience as a California senator and attorney general, could be an unlikely ally for the tech sector, Cuban said.

“The feedback I’ve gotten, although not confirmed by the VP, is that he’s going to be much more open to business, AI, crypto, and government as a service,” Cuban shared in an email interview with Politico. “Changing the policies changes the message and lets everyone know that he’s responsible and open to business in every sense of the word,” he added.

Reports suggest that Harris’ team is reaching out to key figures in the crypto industry to shape crypto policy. With just four weeks until the Democratic National Convention, Harris is under pressure to outline her agenda clearly.

Harris’ presidential campaign has already shown significant fundraising power. Following President Biden’s decision to drop out of the race and support her as his running mate, Harris’ campaign reportedly raised more than $100 million in less than 48 hours, according to Team Harris. Those donations came from 1.1 million unique supporters, 62% of whom were first-time donors.
