Kamala Harris will not be attending the Bitcoin conference

Harris, who was named a presidential candidate when Joe Biden dropped out of the race on July 21, may even speak at the upcoming Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville starting on July 25.

On July 24, event CEO David Bailey said they were in talks with Kamala Harris’ campaign to have her speak at the conference.

“It would be very smart of her to reestablish Democratic standing in the fastest-growing bloc of voters in the country,” he said.

We are in talks with the Kamala Harris campaign to speak at the conference. It would be very smart of her to reestablish Democratic standing in the nation’s fastest-growing bloc of voters. They are deciding today.

It was not confirmed whether Harris will speak at the conference at the time of writing.

The crypto political race heats up

“If Kamala Harris goes to Nashville and can actually eloquently explain how crypto and Bitcoin are the future and lay out a reasonable policy prescription for it, she’s going to win the race.” he opined Block’s Frank Chaparro in a post on X on July 24.

However, his rival, Republican candidate and former president Donald Trump, is already set to speak at the Bitcoin conference.

In addition to Trump, who has taken a pro-crypto stance, other notable political figures will also speak at the event. These include pro-crypto candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., former GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, and Senators Bill Hagerty and Marsha Blackburn.

Vice President Kamala Harris doesn’t have much of a public opinion on crypto, but she’s doing her homework now that it’s become a hot political issue this election year.

Billionaire investor Mark Cuban told Politico that she might be open to changing policies, and that sends a message.

“The feedback I have, but certainly not confirmed by the vice president, is that it will be much more open to business, to cryptocurrencies and to government as a service.”

He added that he was getting several questions from his camp about crypto, “So I take that as a good sign.”

Harris’ campaign is trying to make sure it can win over crypto enthusiasts ahead of the November election.

However, his rival already has the upper hand, claiming to be a “crypto candidate” with rumors that Trump could announce a strategic reserve of Bitcoin for the United States at the conference.

But actually, no…

While rumors of his possible attendance circulated for about a day, an update on the Bailey matter disproved the possibility due to an alleged conversation Harris had with his team.
