NATO to take on greater role than US in arms shipments to Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced in his statement that NATO will assume a greater role than the United States in the coordination of arms shipments to Ukraine in order to protect the aid mechanism, at a time when Donald Trump, who is skeptical of NATO, is competing for the second term US presidency.

NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg told reporters in Brussels: “These efforts do not make NATO a party to the conflict, but they will increase the basis we give Ukraine to maintain its right of legal defense.”said.

Stolterberg also said that NATO members have not yet reached an agreement on long-term financial support for Ukraine.
