Crypto exchange OKX has added support for the Toncoin (TON) network associated with the Telegram messaging app to its Web3 wallet, reaching 100 protocol support, proving once again that it is built on the “on-chain, any chain” philosophy.
An independent Web3 product that operates separately from the centralized exchange (CEX), the wallet is integrated with OKX’s decentralized exchange (DEX).
Marketing Director Haider Rafique said that although OKX tries to provide access to a variety of tokens and protocols for the wallet, they also want to provide a unique experience and that is why not every token meets the standards.
“Most global crypto wallet users have to complete a series of tedious steps to reach new networks and access early incentives. With our native integrations with popular and emerging chains, discovering growing crypto ecosystems is now much easier. We want to make this process as simple and straightforward as possible, and we will achieve this through native integrations, simple discovery, and a modern user experience.”
Market data from CoinMarketCap shows that TON has seen a major breakout with OKX, making it the sixth most traded cryptocurrency on the centralized exchange, just behind the BTC-USDT trading pair and the SOL-USDT pair. Rafique says that TON trading tends to increase when new gamification features are introduced, and that these features increase user interest and engagement.
OKX Web3 Wallet has started supporting NEAR, Blast, and zkLink Nova chains ahead of TON support.
It also recently integrated Uniswap Labs’ trading APIs and launched a platform for Web3 game developers.
