Ben Armstrong, known as “Bitboy” in the cryptocurrency community, made some intriguing predictions regarding Bitcoin and XRP prices during his appearance on the latest episode of Tony Edward’s “Thinking Crypto” YouTube show.
The former millionaire influencer voiced his views on the market dynamics ahead, urging crypto enthusiasts to be both hopeful and cautious.
“I was a big believer in April Fools’ Day [for] “This bull market is next year,” Armstrong told Edward. “I think it’s a great day to do some bullshit.”
Armstrong emphasized that he believes Bitcoin’s (BTC) next significant bull run could begin on April 1, 2025, potentially peaking between late April and June.
He explained that Bitcoin will make significant gains but that extreme increases should not be expected.
“Bitcoin’s price is not going to break above $150,000,” Armstrong said, suggesting a top of $140,000 is a more realistic target. He acknowledged the possibility of a temporary bounce to $170,000 or $180,000 but remained cautious about such outcomes.
“Institutions and people with big money are buying during these times, during these dips, you see whale accumulation and people are saying, ‘I don’t know if the bull run is coming back’… The probability of the bull run not coming back is zero,” he said.
BitBoy: $8-10 range for XRP ‘almost certain’
Regarding Ripple (XRP), Armstrong referred to recent developments that have cleared up regulatory uncertainties surrounding the cryptocurrency. On August 7, a judge ruled that Ripple must pay $125 million in fines for violating securities laws from its sales of XRP to institutions.
Armstrong predicts that XRP could reach between $8 and $10, a range he sees as “almost a sure thing.” He also speculated on possible scenarios that could push XRP’s price even higher, such as an ETF launch or an initial public offering, but remains skeptical about these events occurring before the end of the current bull run.
Armstrong’s predictions also touched on the broader market impact, noting that funds flowing into XRP could drive down the value of other cryptocurrencies, with Cardano (ADA) being one of the most affected.
Ultimately, Armstrong’s predictions offer a mix of optimism and caution, encouraging investors to set realistic expectations and acknowledge the potential for significant gains. As the cryptocurrency market continues to evolve, all eyes will be on Bitcoin and XRP as they move into the next phase of their bull run.
