Former Messari CEO Ryan Selkis has revealed his next focus, which intersects crypto, artificial intelligence, and Donald Trump’s re-election.
Selkis called the new initiative “Project Solomon” and said he plans to contribute to Donald Trump’s second White House term and create a parallel Washington built with modern technologies such as blockchain.
In his view, the development of an open internet, cryptocurrency, and artificial intelligence represent the three most critical challenges America will face in the next decade.
Selkis doubled Trump’s support, putting the Republican candidate ahead of Democratic challenger Kamala Harris. Polymarket data shows a 6-7% difference between Trump’s odds of winning and Harris’s chances of winning in the November presidential election.
Life after Messari
Selkis went public with his vision for X less than three months after stepping down as CEO of Messari. In July, the founder stepped down from his role at the company amid escalating political debate and heated social media discussions over the U.S. election.
A longtime member of the crypto community and social commentator, Selkis founded Messari in 2018 with the aim of bringing an additional layer of transparency to the digital asset economy.
Messari has become known as the hub for decentralized finance data, cryptocurrency research reports, and on-chain governance updates for web3 contributors.
In one of his famous final moments as Messari’s boss, Selkis accused the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission of corruption and mediocre crypto oversight. Selkis said he was ready to fight the SEC and its chairman, Gary Gensler, and planned to end all cooperation with the Wall Street watchdog.
