SBF and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs are sharing a jail unit: report

Sean “Diddy” Combs and former crypto executive Sam Bankman-Fried now share the same prison housing unit at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

This news comes from sources and is reported by NBC New York. According to NBC, Combs, a well-known music mogul, is facing serious federal charges stemming from sex trafficking and racketeering.

Bankman-Fried, once a prominent figure in the crypto industry, was arrested in the Bahamas and extradited to the US in December 2022. He faces multiple charges including campaign finance violations, money laundering, securities fraud and wire fraud.

The two-person unit holds about 18-20 inmates and includes high-profile defendants and collaborators, people who may need special protection. The unit is separate from the general prison population and provides a more controlled environment for inmates facing serious charges, according to reports.

SBF’s unexpected roommate

Bankman-Fried was the CEO of major cryptocurrency exchange FTX, which collapsed last year amid allegations of financial misconduct and fraud.

Meanwhile, Combs, who was arrested at a Manhattan hotel on September 16, remains in custody awaiting trial. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.

Last week, Combs reportedly was denied bail and was transferred to the same federal detention center where Bankman-Fried is also being held.

The Metropolitan Detention Center has a history of housing high-profile detainees such as Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
