Ethereum layer 2 blockchain Scroll has partnered with Cysic Network to integrate zero-computing power into the blockchain to accelerate Ethereum scaling.
Scroll, an emerging Ethereum(ETH) layer-2 blockchain, has been paired with the zero-knowledge proof layer Cysic Network to make scaling Ethereum faster and more efficient.
According to a press release obtained by crypto.news, Cysic currently has two hardware products it is working on, ZK Air and ZK Pro, which they plan to distribute in 2025.
Both products are designed to handle high volumes of transactions without sacrificing speed or security. Cysic states that it will prioritize “support for the latest Scroll proofing techniques in hardware products.”
Scroll Co-Founder Sandy Peng said that by integrating Cysic’s ZK Proof technology, Scroll is able to offer the best infrastructure for developers and provide users with a fast and secure on-chain experience.
“By continually striving to improve our technology across our entire stack, we have found that Cysic strengthens our capabilities to have the highest throughput and fastest results of all ZK aggregations,” Peng said.
As the Ethereum layer 2 environment continues to grow, transaction volume continues to increase, leading to congestion on the Ethereum mainnet. This can lead to bottlenecks, higher latency, and increased costs that can prevent layer 2 blockchains from operating at their best after high traffic.
Therefore, Scroll has realized the need for layer 2 networks to adopt scaling infrastructure that can handle the rapid growth of traffic while maintaining its performance and reliability.
Cysic co-founder Leo Fan stated that ZK technology holds the key to meeting the needs of the ever-evolving blockchain ecosystem and moving the industry forward. He believes that Scroll’s partnership with Cysic can increase the speed and quality of Ethereum scaling on the blockchain.
“By reducing ZK proof generation from hours to minutes with our GPU servers, we are not only accelerating Layer 2 scaling, but also laying the foundation for blockchain innovation,” Fan said.
Cysic is in the process of developing two ZK-proof computing products, ZK Air and ZK Pro, to be released in 2025. ZK Air is a portable solution that enables acceleration of ZK-proof generations in a variety of environments. ZK Pro is designed to resemble traditional mining platforms, with a focus on improving ZK-proof production for large-scale applications.
In October 2023, Scroll launched the Ethereum mainnet and leveraged zero-knowledge proofs to significantly improve Ethereum transactions. Scroll promised its users faster transaction speeds and lower costs by integrating ZK proofs, an encryption method that alleviates bottlenecks.
