Engagement with NFTs and longer player sessions increased across Telegram’s gaming ecosystem in Q3 2024, according to a new report from Helika on Telegram gaming.
According to the report, the number of unique wallets transferring NFTs increased from 200,000 to over 1 million in the quarter, with 600,000 wallets actively participating in NFT transactions in games.
Gamers are also spending more time playing Telegram games. The report showed that average session length nearly doubled from 2.8 minutes to 6.7 minutes; This shows that advanced game design keeps users interested.
Regional data shows a shift in Telegram’s gaming audience compared to other Web3 platforms; Unlike Asia and Latin America, where Web3 games have traditionally developed, 55.91% of players come from Europe.
Increased participation in Telegram games
According to the report, Catizen completed its first airdrops by distributing 34% of the total token allocation, including 150 million tokens distributed in September 2024 alone. Airdrop increased activity to reflect its integration into Telegram.
In September, Binance listed Catizen on the Binance Launchpool, allowing users to collect the gaming bot’s native token before trading.
Like Catizen, Gamee experienced a 300% increase in volume and transactions month over month, showing more players and engagement. X Empire attracted approximately 48 million players, with 18 million tying up their wallets to use the game’s features.
According to the report, Rocky Rabbit had 30 million players, while Banana reached 10 million users as of October. Wonton users exceeded 1 million in its first week.
However, the report also highlighted the challenges faced by developers as new games flood the platform. Small development teams struggle with limited marketing budgets and user attraction issues. Developers are expanding game genres and offering a wider range of experiences such as simulations, RPGs and puzzles; This shows that Telegram’s gaming ecosystem goes beyond simple, casual games.
