The Graph upgrades tooling for Solana devs to accelerate dApp deployment

Graph, a decentralized protocol for blockchain data indexing and access, has introduced significant upgrades aimed at improving the decentralized application ecosystem on Solana.

In a press release shared with crypto.news on September 16, it is stated that The Graph (GRT) is upgrading its tools on the Solana (SOL) network to offer new ways for developers to access and leverage the blockchain.

With the upgrades, developers now have more options to access indexed Solana data. Subgraphs powered by substreams allow builders on the smart contracts platform to access pre-built solutions from providers like Messari and Top Ledger.

Utilizing Subgraphs Supported by Subcurrents

In The Graph’s ecosystem, subgraphs powered by substreams provide technology that enables faster indexing for decentralized applications. Benefits include a development environment where dapp developers can use coding tools both remotely and locally.

Developers on Solana can also use this technology to quickly synchronize projects. Creators can access Solana blockchain data without needing to use substreams or the Rust programming language.

A boost to Solana’s web3 ecosystem

This means developers can get the most out of Solana’s network during the web3 boom, noted Nick Hansen, head of growth at The Graph Foundation, who highlighted features like high throughput, low fees, and a growing ecosystem of DeFi projects.

“The rapid growth of developer and user activity on Solana has created a huge demand for open, decentralized data that is true to web3 values. Graph’s latest tooling upgrade and enhanced support will enable the Solana community to extract even more value from web3’s decentralized data layer.”

In addition to Solana developers, data analysts and the broader web3 community are also likely to find the new tools important.

Launched in 2018, The Graph has become one of the most prominent blockchain projects in the web3 space. Developers have deployed dapps built with subgraphs on over 70 blockchains, including Ethereum (ETH), Arbitrum (ARB), and Avalanche (AVAX).
