The Shiba Inu (SHIB) team issues a critical warning – details

TL;DR

Shiba Inu investors are being targeted by scammers on Telegram who offer fake airdrops and impersonate legitimate entities. Community members are warned to avoid scams related to the TREAT token, as it has not yet seen the light of day. Scam alert

Shiba Inu is among the most popular meme coins, with one of the largest communities of all cryptocurrencies. As such, it is not surprising that SHIB investors often become targets of hackers who try to scam them using various techniques.

Scam alerts from Shibarmy, the X account focused on the delights surrounding the ecosystem, recently warned about fake groups on Telegram that offer malicious releases. The team instructed Shibarmy (a term that refers to all investors, supporters and enthusiasts of the meme currency) to refrain from connecting their wallets anywhere to get free crypto.

“They will drain the contents of your wallet. Stay safe, Shibarmy, and keep your eyes open,” reads the warning.

Less than a year ago, the same X account issued a similar alert about Telegram users. The team stated that bad actors pretending to be legitimate individuals or entities look for an opportunity to hack victims through the messaging app:

“It has been brought to our attention that there are scammers operating in Telegram direct messages, targeting unsuspecting users of the Shiba Ecosystem and Shibarium Tech group. These scammers may impersonate legitimate individuals or organizations, trying to trick you for you to share personal information, financial details or even send them money.”

The team advised people to avoid money transactions to suspicious accounts and never send request-based cryptocurrencies in Telegram chats.

Notice from last month

Shibarium’s marketing strategist, using the X LUCIE handle, also frequently issues critical alerts to the community. Several weeks ago, they recalled that one of the Shiba Inu ecosystem tokens, TREAT, has not yet been released.

This means that people who find this information on the Internet should take it with a grain of salt and stay away from scammers who claim otherwise and offer tempting opportunities involving TREAT.
