Trump holds over $1m in ETH, plus a MAGA meme coin

A recent revelation regarding Donald Trump’s financial interests suggests that he owns millions of dollars worth of cryptocurrency and also makes significant income from NFT licensing fees.

While the exact amount of cryptocurrencies held by Trump was not disclosed in the statement by transparency advocacy group CREW, on-chain tracking platform Arkham Intelligence revealed that the former president’s portfolio includes $1.28 million worth of Ethereum (ETH) and approximately $1.8 million in other tokens, including the Trump (MAGA) meme coin.

The CREW filings also highlighted Trump’s roughly $7.15 million in NFT licensing fee revenue from a deal he struck with a company called NFT INT. Furthermore, Trump’s wife Melania reportedly earned $330,609 from NFT sales from the same firm.

Trump said in 2019 that he was no fan of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies because “their value is so volatile and volatile.” Today, his campaign is pro-crypto and is making the sector a major talking point ahead of Election Day on November 5.

Trump has promised to create a national strategic Bitcoin reserve for the United States if he wins the November election.

Taking the crypto agenda even further, Trump’s sons set tongues wagging when they made a “big announcement coming up” on August 7. Donald Trump Jr. hinted in a post on X that the upcoming announcement would “shake up” the crypto ecosystem, while Eric Trump expressed his deep enthusiasm for crypto and DeFi, promising significant development in the space.

Immediately after the announcement, some analysts suggested that the development could target real-world asset markets.

However, Eric Trump announced in an interview with the New York Post on August 14 that the upcoming project will focus on “digital real estate.”

Eric Trump’s announcement sparked several rumors on social media, which Trump Jr. later addressed. The eldest of the Trump brothers urged the community to only trust updates from the company’s official Telegram channel for the project, called “The DeFiant Ones.”

Trump’s campaign team is also trying to rally the crypto community behind the former president and has raised over $3 million in crypto donations to show their support for the crypto community.
