Trump pick David Sacks as White House’s AI and crypto czar

Trump aims to create more crypto-friendly regulations under his administration by creating a new crypto position in the White House; He chose David Sacks.

US President-elect Donald Trump announced that venture capitalist Craft Ventures David Sacks will be the White House artificial intelligence and crypto czar. This position was newly added to government bodies after Trump aimed to make the US the crypto capital of the world.

Sacks will guide AI and crypto regulations and work on legal frameworks for both sectors. He will also lead the Science and Technology Advisory Board.

“I am pleased to announce that David O. Sacks will be the “White House AI and Crypto Czar.” “In this important role, David will guide the Administration’s policy on Artificial Intelligence and Cryptocurrency, two areas critical to the future of America’s competitiveness.”

Trump says in his Dec. 6 Truth Social post:

The position, along with the president’s instructions, is expected to provide better crypto advocates. Sacks will also serve as a liaison between Trump, Congress and relevant crypto agencies, including the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity and Future Trading Commission (CFTC).

David Sacks supports Trump campaign

According to Bloomberg, Sacks’ work as a San Francisco-based venture capitalist is one of his key roles in supporting Trump’s campaign funds in tech industries. He also maintains close ties with Vice President-elect J.D. Vence.

In his new role, Sacks will also work closely with Elon Musk as Director of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). As a private employee of the government like Elon, Sacks does not need to publicly close his holdings and can serve a maximum of 130 days a year.
