The former US President is using familiar tactics of belittling Biden and the debate hosts to diminish the importance of the event.
Donald Trump made baseless accusations against Joe Biden and CNN moderators ahead of today’s first US presidential debate in a “pre-bunking” exercise designed to have his excuses ready in case he is declared the loser.
In a familiar repeat of tactics used in previous campaigns, he stepped up his demands that presumptive Republican nominee Biden undergo drug testing and called Biden “too high” in his State of the Union address last January, when the president won praise for his energetic performance.
Trump on the Truth Social platform this week “Drug test for crooked Joe Biden???? I’d be quick to agree too!!!”Wrote.
The post came after Trump repeatedly told viewers that Biden would come to the debate “high.”
Trump also took aim at CNN moderator Jake Tapper during Thursday’s debate in Atlanta, repeatedly calling him a “fake Tapper” in speeches and interviews.
