Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. officially doubled down on his support for bitcoin at the BTC 2024 conference in Nashville.
“I am a big supporter of Bitcoin. I have invested most of my wealth in Bitcoin,” the candidate said, explaining how “loyal” he is to the cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin has become a hot topic in the election cycle since Republican candidate Donald Trump announced in May that he would accept crypto donations to his campaign. Many crypto entrepreneurs have made their support clear for the Trump campaign, with Kraken co-founder Jesse Powell donating $1 million in crypto to Trump and the Winklevoss twins donating to a Trump-affiliated PAC.
Kennedy, a libertarian candidate, took aim at the Federal Reserve, saying the central bank worked in the interests of bankers, not the public.
“The relationship between Congress and the Fed is a symbiotic relationship for both of us. The Fed is not a public institution… The decision makers are appointed by the banking industry.”
Kennedy also argued that the lockdowns during Covid have benefited billionaires.
“The curfews, the closure of all small businesses in the country… These are things that we should have anticipated and supported. Instead, Walmart, Amazon, Facebook, the oil industry, the processed food industry… They all rose during the Covid era,” the candidate said.
Speaking at CoinDesk’s Consensus conference earlier this year, Kennedy emphasized that crypto is “the key to transaction freedom,” saying:
“We need sovereignty over our own wallets, freedom of transaction, and a transparent currency. We need to make sure America remains the center of blockchain technology.”
